These Terms of Use apply to mfgdate.com (the "Site"), operated by MfgDate ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.

1. What the Site provides

The Site offers free tools that estimate the manufacture date and age of home equipment from its serial number, along with related information. The tools and content are provided for general information only.

2. No warranty

The Site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Decoder results are estimates and may be wrong. See our Disclaimer.

3. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or any result it produces. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed US $100.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, copy or republish the Site's content, rule data or tools in bulk, or build a competing database from them;
  • send automated requests that place an unreasonable load on the Site;
  • attempt to break, probe or bypass the Site's security;
  • use the Site for anything unlawful, or submit content that is unlawful, abusive or infringes others' rights.

5. Intellectual property

The Site's text, design, code and compiled decoder rules are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright. You may use the tools for your own personal or professional purposes (home inspectors and contractors are welcome) and quote short excerpts with a link back. Manufacturer names belong to their owners; see the trademark notice.

6. Submissions

If you send us a correction, serial number, photo or other feedback, you grant us a free, perpetual, worldwide license to use it to improve the Site, including adding serial numbers (without your personal details) to our test data. Please don't send anything you don't have the right to share.

7. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to, or show ads from, third parties. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products or practices.

8. Changes

We may update the Site or these Terms at any time. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
